Lawra: MP COMMISSIONS REHABILITATED CHPS COMPOUND FOR NANYARE COMMUNITY

The Member of Parliament for Lawra Constituency Lawyer Bede Ziedeng On Thursday 18 January, 2024 commissioned a rehabilitated Community Health Planning and services (CHPS) compound for the Chiefs and people of Nanyare at Eremon in the Lawra Municipality of the Upper West Region with the cost of GHC 71, 692.25.

The facility was an old block which developed big cracks in the Walls, and was a death threat to the clients and the workers (nurses) in the Community.

The legislator reiterated his commitment to improving equity to access the basic needs of the Constituents. He disclosed that it was due to the appeals of the assembly man in the area, the building is commissioning today.

The MP was happy that one of the needs of Nanyare and its environs have been fulfilled for use to support and improve health care delivery in the Community.

Hon. Bede mentioned a lot of developmental projects and other supports in all the sectors across the Constituency through his efforts and lobbies.

Some of the projects mentioned include; mechanised Domwine and Eremon health Centers Water systems, 3 heavy duty Air conditioners were provided to the Cold room of the Lawra municipal hospital for the storage of essential medicines and vaccines, repaired the broken down X-ray machine at the Lawra hospital, a brand new Motorbike to the health Directorate used for monitoring and many of the projects dotted across the Constituency.

The MP said development is a collective effort and encourage others especially stateholders to come on board so that they can all move the development agenda of Lawra Constituency forward.
He however his profound gratitude to the Nanyare people for voting massively for him at the 2020 general elections, and also to appeal all sundry to conduct themselves well at this year 2024 general elections for peaceful elections.

The Lawra municipal Health Director Mr. Emmanuel Sanwuok in his address, lauded the MP for such a kind support in the rehabilitation of the CHPS compound to aid the district in terms of health care delivery.
He said Health care delivery is a partnership and so therefore every one has a role and duty to play to improve better health care of the Nanyare people and the entire district.

“Even though we are called Healthcare providers, but health is actually cooked at household level because you are what you eat and what you drink. And we know very well that these two are mostly given to us at the household level. So yes we are health care providers but each person has a role to play in their own Heath care”, the director stated.

Mr. Emmanuel called on the Chiefs and people of the Community to maintain the building and do maintenance to keep the structure longer for their own good.

He used the opportunity to appeal to the Community people to handle the nurses well like their children to encourage them perform their duties very well.

The Municipal Chief Executive of the Lawra Municipality Hon. Jacob Dery represented by an officer from the assembly Mr. Abdulai Hamza Wumbei on his part thanked and commended the MP for inviting him to commission this nice rehabilitated edifice.

He lauded the MP for the project to support the assembly to strengthening health care delivery in the district. He said the assembly under his leadership is also working hard to in the collaboration with the Lawra Health Directorate to improve the accessibility and quality health services for the Community people.
