Valentine Day Special: MTN Inspired Blood Donation Generate Over 260 Pints Of Blood In Upper West
Ghana’s largest telecommunications network, MTN Ghana, has collaborated with various stakeholders in the Upper West to generate 260 pints of blood on Valentine’s Day.
The flagship Valentine Day programme saw Wa Municipality generating 80 pints of blood , whiles the Regional Hospital and Jirapa Municipality generated 95 and 90 pints of blood respectively.
The annual exercise , which generated over 250 pints of blood has since been celebrated as one of the flagship programmes for MTN at the regional level.
A known blood donor and a member of Border Camp where the Municipal Blood donation was done said , “it is an annual event we have been organizing in collaboration with MTN Ghana to safe out brothers and sisters at the various hospitals. We do it as part of our responsibilities as stakeholders in the society. Today we might not need blood but be looking for others to help us. So this exercise is to ensure that the blood blanks have enough to assist our people. We do it with support from MTN Ghana in the upper west region”.
With scores of donors queueing up to make donation at various centers in the region , the exercise produced 265 pints of blood at the end of the day.
The annual donation exercise has been described as one of the most flagship programmes in the Upper West Region in the health center.
