Blissful Sight for kids, a humanitarian organization under Bliss Eye Care has partnered with Wa Municipal Education Office to provide free eye screenings for students in the Boli Circuit for early problem diagnosis and the development of effective treatments.

Students from Sing and Bihee Basic Schools participated in the first phase of the exercise, while Boli, Dapuaha, Seyiri, and Loggipora Basic Schools will participate in the second phase, which will be organized at a later time.

After the exercise, Abudi Issahaku, the coordinator for School health education program (SHEP), spoke to the media and said that the program will give kids the chance to get their eyes checked for potential problems early on.

According to him, pupils’ eyesight is crucial for learning and teaching, and it has an impact on how well they see in class.

He also said that the initiative would aid in identifying the best treatments for any eye conditions that might be discovered in the kids.

“We were at Nakore and this we are at Boli circuit which comprises Bihee, Sing, Boli, Seyiri, Dapuoha. Today’s session, our attention is on Bihee and Sing which are adjoining communities. The next phase will be at Boli and we expect communities like Dapuoha, Seyiri and Loggupora.”

He highlighted the necessity for parents and guardians to treat the exercise with the seriousness it deserves while also making it clear that steps will be taken to address the problems that have arisen since the program’s beginning.

He underlined the importance of parents and guardians treating the exercise seriously while also promising to take action in response to the problems that have arisen since the program’s commencement.

The abnormalities found in some of the youngsters can be treated with glasses and other interventions, according to optometrist and project leader of blissful sight for kids, Dr. Zakaria Alhassan Baluri.

He claimed that one of the students had the ailment blepharitis, and that his mother had been shown the course of therapy and how the medication would be administered to treat it.

One student had no vision, while another had a macular scar in his eye. According to Dr. Zakaria, there is little that can be done to help either situation.
