8 ministerial nominees set for vetting today

The Appointments Committee of Parliament is set to vet eight ministerial nominees including Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, the Minister-designate for Labour, Jobs, and Employment, today, 30th January 2025.

The vetting barring any unforeseen circumstance will commence at 8:00 a.m. with Mr Pelpuo, followed by Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, the Minister-designate for Environment, Science, and Technology, at 9:00 a.m.

Samuel Nartey George, nominated for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations and Kofi Iddie Adams, the Minister-designate for Sports and Recreation are also expected to appear.

After a brief recess, proceedings will resume at 12:30 p.m. with the Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, the nominee for Transport and Issifu Seidu, the Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability.

The final nominee will be Ahafo Regional Minister-designate, Mrs Charity Gardiner.

The vetting process is expected to assess the competence, vision, and suitability of each nominee for their respective ministerial roles before parliamentary approval.
