 Election 2024: NDC’s Wa West Communications Bureau Hosts Capacity Building Workshop

The Wa West Constituency’s Communications Bureau of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) held a capacity-building workshop on Saturday, August 31, 2024, to enhance their communication strategies ahead of the 2024 elections. The workshop was led by Regional Communications Officer Issah Kantagyere and Deputy Regional Organizer Prince Mahamud.

Mr. Kantagyere discussed the NDC’s manifesto launch and strategic objectives, emphasizing the crucial role of communicators in achieving them. Prince Mahamud delivered a presentation on political communication as a tool for political victory, highlighting the importance of effective messaging in securing electoral success. He also donated GH¢1,000 on behalf of the Regional Chairman to support the Wa West Communications Bureau.

Other notable facilitators included Hon. Alhaji Adamu N.S. Dasaana, who discussed the impact of dialect on effective communication, and Comrades Sharifdeen Shash and Carlos Chireh, who addressed social media communication and content creation, and achieving strategic goals, respectively.

The workshop featured significant donations from party supporters, including Alhaji Alhassan Gbangu, who contributed 30 mobile phones worth GH¢4,800, and Mrs. Khalida M.A Seidu, who contributed food and drinks valued at GH¢1,000.

Keynote speaker Prof. Domasus Tuurosung cautioned communicators on the careful consideration of their statements, emphasizing the importance of context in political communication.

The workshop concluded with the inauguration of the Communications Team by Hon. Olinaa Ababaasa and his deputy, Mr. Kyekuo Emmanuel. The team was charged with rallying support and winning votes for NDC’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, and the sitting MP, Hon. Peter Lanchene.
