Every Ghanaian Will Benefit from Ghana’s Natural Resources – Bernard Mornah

In a groundbreaking vision for Ghana’s future, Bernard Mornah, the Presidential Candidate for the People’s National Congress (PNC), has pledged that every Ghanaian child will benefit directly from the country’s abundant natural resources.

Mornah’s proposal promises a new model for resource distribution aimed at empowering the nation’s youth from birth, ensuring that the wealth generated from Ghana’s natural assets contributes directly to individual prosperity and national growth.

In an address outlining his vision at the Upper West Regional Chief Imam, Mornah emphasized that each child born in Ghana would receive a financial foundation supported by the proceeds from the country’s natural resources, which include gold, timber, cocoa, and other valuable exports. “Every child will have a bank account created in their name within a month after birth,” Mornah stated, “and a portion of our national resource revenue will be deposited into that account every month, providing direct benefits from our shared wealth.”

Under his economic empowerment plan, 60% of revenue from natural resources will be allocated to the government, supporting infrastructure, healthcare, education, and other public services.

The remaining 40% will be placed in individual accounts for each child until they turn 18, providing a financial foundation for their adult lives.

According to Mornah, this approach is designed to create a tangible link between the country’s natural wealth and the prosperity of its people, especially the younger generation. “Our natural resources are a gift to all Ghanaians, and it’s time we see this wealth reflected in the lives of every citizen,” he affirmed.

By investing a portion of resource profits directly into the lives of Ghana’s youth, Mornah’s plan seeks to provide every child with a future of increased financial security.

This approach also aims to promote greater equity, bridging economic divides by ensuring that all Ghanaian children, regardless of background, can benefit from the nation’s resources.

This initiative, Mornah believes, would transform how Ghanaians perceive and benefit from their country’s natural wealth. If successful, the proposal could set a precedent in resource-rich nations, offering a model where resource dividends empower citizens and foster economic security from a young age.
