In a heartwarming display of kindness and compassion, Member of Parliament for Wa Central, Hon. Dr. Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, has paid the outstanding hospital bills of a single mother and her bedridden son, Little Hamdan, who had been stranded at the Upper Regional Hospital.
Little Hamdan’s ordeal began after a devastating accident left him with severe injuries, including a fractured ankle. His single mother struggled to raise funds for the necessary implant surgery, until philanthropist Alhaji Nurideen, also known as Alanky, intervened and covered the surgery costs.
However, Hamdan’s recovery was complicated, requiring specialized care that accumulated additional bills. The hospital authorities, unable to release them due to unpaid debts, held the pair hostage.
Moved by their plight, Hon. Dr. Rashid Hassan Pelpuo swiftly intervened, settling the outstanding bill of GHc3,830 without hesitation. This selfless act restored the freedom and dignity of Little Hamdan and his mother.
The Hamdan family, along with Mohammed Tando, Communication Officer for Wa Central, extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Alanky and Hon. Dr. Rashid Hassan Pelpuo for their unwavering support and commitment to humanity.
This gesture serves as a testament to Hon. Dr. Pelpuo’s dedication to the well-being of his constituents and the values of empathy and kindness that define his leadership.
