MP for Wa Central Donates Furniture to Wa Municipal Education Directorate

The Wa Central Member of Parliament, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, on Friday, January 5, 2024, donated 100 pieces of furniture to the Wa Municipal Education Directorate to address the furniture deficit in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region.

In a brief speech before the presentation, the lawmaker indicated that the donation was an initiative by him as the Member of Parliament for the constituency to provide the Wa Municipal Education Directorate with these furniture pieces to distribute to the neediest schools without desks or with broken desks.

He stated, “What you are seeing here is my effort as a Member of Parliament to resolve key issues that are confronting the schools. We have been to schools where children are sitting on the floors, and others are sitting on very broken furniture.”

He mentioned that this small donation, along with previous ones from his office, would support the furniture deficit in Wa Central, aiming to reduce if not fully eradicate it.

The Member of Parliament was accompanied by the Wa Central Constituency Chairman for the NDC and other party members for the donation.

The Wa Municipal Education Director, Madam Sophia Dimah, on behalf of the Education Directorate expressed her profound gratitude for the kind gesture donated to support the furniture deficit in the Wa Municipality.

The Director mentioned that the donation would bring relief to the Education Directorate concerning the furniture deficit in the Municipality.

She also thanked him for all the support he has been providing to the Education Directorate, expressing hope that God would richly bless the MP for him to continue extending his good support for the betterment of improving the education center in the Wa Municipality.
