Parents are urged to encourage their children to seek Technical Education

Mr. Saaka Adams, the principal of Wa Technical Institute in the Upper West Region, urged parents and guardians to support and permit their wards or children to pursue technical education as a means of obtaining specialized training.

At a fashion show exhibition event, he said technical education is the route to go for the young generation’s bright future while speaking to parents and students in the school.

According to him, this year the institution accepted 960 students, the most of any region in Ghana.

He praised parents for their contributions to their children’s education and urged them to keep helping the kids grow up to be mature and self-sufficient adults.

The head of the fashion design department, Madam Selina Remeo Zaghe, stated in her statement that the school’s fashion department is the most populous and one of the oldest of the three departments, having been founded in 1993.

She emphasized the significance of fashion design technology, which is a course that has a real impact on students’ knowledge and skills.

She stated that the school consistently achieves 100% pass rates on technical and vocational exams, and the majority of these students continue their study at the highest level.

Despite the accolades, she claimed that the school’s inadequate workshop and instructional resources make teaching and learning extremely challenging.

She claims that the school has struggled in the past to put on such an exhibition as an example for parents to actually believe in their kids.

However, she urged the government and charitable organizations to provide them with a suitable design workshop and equipment for the School.

In their comments, the vice principal academic Mr. Akateng Papinian Christian and Abubakari A. Karim both emphasized the significance of academic advancement in technical education.

In order to help the pupils succeed, they also urged Parents to work with Teachers.

Regional Human Resource Officer Mr. Asamah James praised the school for its amazing exhibition presentation on behalf of Regional Director of Education Razak Z. Abdul- Korah, saying it was a beautiful illustration of how technical education is developing in various schools.

In his keynote address, the special guest of honor, Mr. Gaeten Bayel, a former headmaster, commended the teachers and students for their excellent work while admonishing them to put the knowledge they had gained from the school to good use and stay away from any negative behavior and social media threats.

In terms of technical education, students really put their talents and skills on display for their parents.
