Most Reverend Peter Kwaku Atuahene, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Goaso, has asked the youth to desist from immoral acts that could ruin their lives.
They must undertake their endeavours with all seriousness and always hold on to God for success in their life journeys.
Most Rev. Atuahene made the call at the launch of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Henry Hueging Memorial School at Goaso in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo region.
The school was established under the leadership of Most Rev. Atuahene, as one of the private basic educational institutions of the Catholic Church.
He commended the management and staff of the school for their hard work, dedication, commitment and selfless services, which had helped position the school as one of the best in the Ahafo region and encouraged them to keep up the good works.
Most Rev. Atuahene said the church would ensure that children in the area have better education to enable them contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities and the country at large.
Mr. Williams Boakye-Baafi, Ahafo Regional Manager of Catholic schools, entreated parents to be more responsible towards their wards education.
He urged teachers to be more committed to their duties to help train the children to discover and serve the purpose God created them.
Mr. Boakye-Baafi advised teachers to serve as role models for their learners.
They should desist from engaging in unprofessional behaviours with their learners.
Sister Rosemary Dade (RMV), Headmistress of the school, explained that, the school was established by the Catholic Bishop of Goaso Diocese, Most Rev Peter Kwaku Atuahene, 25th years ago to provide a holistic quality Catholic Education for the children in the Goaso and its environs.
She said the school, which started with about one hundred children, now has over seven hundred learners.
She stated that the Henry Hueging Memorial School Basic School had produced a lot of people who were contributing their quota to the development of Ghana in different fields of work.
