UWR: Residents of Jonga Call On Akufo Addo To Fix Their Road he Promised in 2012

Residents of Jonga in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region have called on the President, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo to help fix their road as it is affecting the standard of living of people in the area.

According to the residents, the road has been a major challenge facing them over the years but nothing was done about it by previous governments, stressing that several appeals have been made about the road but no response has been given.

The residents continue that, President Nana Akufo Addo in 2012, as flagbearer of the NPP during his campaign in the community promised to get their road fixed if he was voted into office as President.

They are therefore calling on the President, His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo to fix their road as the situation gets worse every day.

The community, however, has organised communal labour to fix some parts of their untired road which has been destroyed by recent rains.

Some residents who took part in the communal labour on Friday, August 28 said, the situation of the road worsens whenever there is rainy season as it becomes muddy making a business in the area difficult for people who always use the road for their daily activities, adding that a rapid intervention needs to be done about the road to relief people of the burden they always go through due to bad state of the road.

Residents also bemoan the failure of the Wa Municipal Assembly to fix the Jonga road, a year after the MCE, Alhaj Issahaku Tahiru Mommeen at a town hall meeting promised the road will be fixed before the close of the year 2020.
