Abdul Nasir Saani, the National Democratic Congress’s newly elected Upper West Regional Chairman, has stated he is prepared to collaborate with everyone to improve the party’s fortunes ahead of the 2024 elections.

Shortly after the regional executive election, Chairman Bunas, as he is known, gave his victory speech and reaffirmed his intention to collaborate with the other executives for the benefit of the party.

“I want to assure everyone that we will work together as a team. I am opening my doors,” United we stand, divided we fall,” he indicated.

Chairman Bunas won the election by a margin of 70 votes after receiving 227 votes to Alhassan Adams’ 157.

Three incumbent candidates, Prosper Puo-Ire (Communication Officer), Issahaku Nuhu Putiaha (Organizer), and Abdul Razak Abdul Moomin Tachi (Treasurer), were unable to keep their posts and Nicodemus N.B.D. Dery, the former Youth Organizer, was unsuccessful in his attempt to win the position of Secretary for the ensuing four years.

There is no winner, no loser; NDC has won, the chairman declared, promising to cooperate with the newly elected executives as well as those who did not win.

Under Chairman Bunas’ guidance, the NDC’s number of parliamentary seats was boosted in the last election to eight, and he has pledged to build on the gains by winning all of the constituencies in the next elections.
