We need a change at the general Secretary position- Mujeeb Osei

A member of the NPP national communication team, Mujeeb Rahman Osei, he is not convince that John Boadu should be retained for the general secretary position of the New Patriotic Party.

According to him, the decline of the number of seats won by the NPP is enough justification for John Boadu to step down as the general secretary.

Speaking to Asprilla on Home Radio’s morning Show; sunrise upper west, he said there is the need to change John Boadu as the general secretary position is the most critical position and also the life blood of the New Patriotic Party.

The former constituency secretary insisted that it is time for John Boadu to step aside and play his role elsewhere.

“For being general secretary, I think that he has done his part but I am not so much enthused with what happened in the 2020 elections. We had 169 seats and under a general secretary, it has been reduced to 137. Somebody should take absolute responsibility for that lost and he should have resigned long ago.”

“There is no way you can convince me that John Boadu should be retained. 6 years as general secretary, he has done what he needed to do. We don’t have ID cards because the cards are outmoded. How do you allow such a person to continue as general secretary of a bigger party especially when we want to break the 8.

Mujeeb Rahman further urged delegates to contribute meaningful in decision making by choosing committed and qualified people to save the face of the party.
