The Member of Parliament for Wa Central Constituency, Hon. Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, has demonstrated his commitment to improving healthcare delivery in his constituency by allocating over GH¢170,000 for various healthcare projects. The funds were released this week to support critical initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare infrastructure and services in the area.
The projects benefiting from the MP’s support include the completion of a maternity block at Sokpayiri, for which GH¢44,586.90 has been allocated. Additionally, GH¢30,725.05 will be used to procure medical equipment for the Sombo and Busa CHIPS Compounds, ensuring that healthcare facilities are well-equipped to provide quality services to the community.
Further allocations include GH¢10,000 as the third batch of disbursement for the construction of the Dobile Maternity Block, and another GH¢10,000 in support of the BAHASS Mental Home construction, specifically for the supply of 100 bags of cement to complement the 100 bags previously donated. The MP has also provided GH¢14,000 as start-up support for the establishment of a new CHIPS Compound at Nyugluu, a self-help project that will enhance healthcare access for residents in the area.
Other projects include the roofing of the Dokpong maternity block, allocated GH¢25,170.90, and an initial release of GH¢37,450 for the construction of a conference hall for the Wa Municipal Health Directorate. This facility is expected to serve as a hub for health professionals to convene, share knowledge, and develop strategies to improve healthcare delivery in the municipality.
In total, Hon. Dr. Rashid Pelpuo has expended GH¢172,472.85 on these healthcare projects, underscoring his dedication to improving healthcare infrastructure and services in the Wa Central Constituency. These initiatives are expected to have a significant impact on the well-being of residents and contribute to the overall development of the area.
