As part of his ongoing official visit to India, Ghana’s Minister for Labour, Jobs, and Employment, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, has continued high-level engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral partnerships in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural engineering.

In one of his latest visits, Dr. Pelpuo toured Arete Hospitals in Hyderabad, where he was taken through the hospital’s ultra-modern facilities, including a state-of-the-art MRI unit, a luxury President’s Suite, and cutting-edge medical infrastructure. The Minister described the facility as an example of innovation Ghana can emulate to improve its own health systems.

Accompanied by Ghanaian businessman Chief Abdul Salam Morgan Agbotui, who facilitated the visit, and Lawyer Samira Abdul-Azeez, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Enterprise Agency, Dr. Pelpuo held strategic discussions with hospital executives to explore collaboration in medical tourism, hospital infrastructure development, and pharmaceutical partnerships.

“This facility demonstrates what is possible when health is made a national priority. We are looking to partner with institutions like this to transform Ghana’s healthcare system and make quality care accessible and affordable,” Dr. Pelpuo noted during the visit.

Beyond healthcare, the Minister and his delegation also held discussions around high-tech agricultural engineering, with the goal of adapting proven Indian technologies to boost Ghana’s agricultural productivity, food security, and rural employment.

These engagements build on Dr. Pelpuo’s broader mission in India, which includes meetings with pharmaceutical manufacturers, hospital groups, and agricultural technology experts. The trip aligns with Ghana’s strategic focus on affordable healthcare access including upcoming initiatives like Mahama Cares and job creation through industry partnerships.
