The Administrator of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), Mr. Paul Adjei, has paid a courtesy call on His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi. The visit was to extend his heartfelt condolences to the King following the passing of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
Mr. Adjei, while expressing sympathy on behalf of the management and staff of GETFund, also used the occasion to brief the Asantehene on the progress of GETFund-sponsored projects in the Ashanti Region. He emphasized the Fund’s commitment to ensuring the timely completion of ongoing educational and health-related infrastructure.
Highlighting one of the flagship projects in the region, Mr. Adjei assured Otumfuo of the imminent completion and operationalization of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Teaching Hospital. According to him, the facility, once fully functional, will significantly enhance healthcare delivery and training opportunities in the Ashanti Region and beyond.
The GETFund Administrator was accompanied by Mrs. Adwoa Amankwaa Boateng Appiah, the Deputy Director of Fundraising at GETFund, who reaffirmed the Fund’s dedication to mobilizing resources to support critical educational initiatives across the country.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II expressed gratitude for the visit and urged GETFund to continue playing a proactive role in supporting the government’s efforts to improve access to quality education and healthcare infrastructure.
