Asante Kotoko Ace Centre Back, Ismail Abdul Ganiu has revealed that he is among the top three centre backs in the Ghana Premier League.
He made this known on the “Final Whistle” Saturday on Home Radio.
Ishmael Abdul Ganiu has spent considerable time on the treatment table after suffering a knee injury in the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup.
He played a front line role for Wa All Stars guiding the team to win their First Premier League title in 2016.
The 2016 Premier League winner started as a left back and played his debut for Wa All Stars FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park in Dormaa in a 1-0 lost.
He played three (3) seasons for the Turquoise Turquoise blue and tormented a lot of strikers including 32 year old Yahaya Mohammed.
He was arguably the best centre back in the 2015/2016 GPL Season after scoring three (3) goals becoming the “most wanted” defender in the league.
Bankrolled by the late David Brigidi, Karela Utd gazumped Kotoko and Ash Gold to lure the highly rated centre back for a one year contract.
After the Anas Expose, Asante Kotoko finally landed the man they wanted for years and he is widely applauded for his exploits at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The celebrated defender has since won three cups for Kotoko. The President’s Cup, Otumfuo’s Cup and the Normalisation Cup are the competitions won by Ganiu since 2016.
