NDC Launches 2024 Campaign in Nadowli/Kaleo Constituency, Promises Regulated Mining and Infrastructure Development

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially launched its 2024 campaign in the Nadowli/Kaleo constituency, with top party officials pledging to provide regulated mining concessions and infrastructure development to the area.

Hon. Haruna Idrissu, immediate past Minority Leader in parliament, addressed a charged crowd at Charekpong, urging voters to overwhelmingly support H.E. John Dramani Mahama as president and retain Anthony Mwinkaara Sumah as Member of Parliament.

Idrissu praised the people of Nadowli/Kaleo for producing illustrious leaders, including Speaker Alban Bagbin, and encouraged them to honor Bagbin by voting for Mahama and Sumah. He promised that the NDC would redesign and construct the N12 Highway, provide community mining concessions, and empower people financially.

“The youth of Charekpong will have access to regulated and responsible mining, which will be done without destroying water bodies,” Idrissu stressed.

Other speakers, including Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, MP for Wa Central, and Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapila, MP for Jirapa, emphasized the need for unity and criticized the current government’s handling of the Ghana School Feeding Program.

Dr. Pelpuo praised Nadowli/Kaleo’s exceptional parliamentary representation, noting that Anthony Sumah enjoys enormous respect and recognition in parliament despite being a first-time MP.

Hon. Anthony Mwinkaara Sumah expressed gratitude for the massive turnout at the campaign launch and called for a door-to-door campaign to secure over 85% of votes for himself and Mahama.

The Upper West regional chairman of the NDC, Alhaji Abdul Nasir Saani, charged party members to work towards winning all 11 parliamentary seats in the region.
