Wa : Regional Security Council Visits Victims Of March 18 Shooting Spree, Provides Financial Supports To Aid Medication

The Upper West Regional Security Council has paid a working visit to four victims of the March 18 unfortunate shooting spree that along the Wa-Kumasi road leading to the death of two people.

The team of officials from REGSEC paid a consolation visit to victims who received stray bullets as results of the shooting incident that took place on March 18, 2022 as a results of land dispute.

In what has been described as a Black day in the annals of Wa Municipality, two people lost their lives from stray bullets after a gun was fired by one Yunus Abdul Rahman, the suspect and a stakeholder in the land dispute.

Several other people also received injuries of various kinds including students of SDD -UBIDS who were returning from school.

A retired lecturer , Mr Steven Mane and an Islamic scholar, Mr Iddrisu , both lost their lives through the unfortunate shooting incident.

As part of their core duties within the Upper West Region, the Regional Security Council officially visited four of the victims to get first hand knowledge of the incident.

The council also provided some tokens to the families to take care of their medical bills and psychological reinstatements.

Preliminary information available to Home Radio News have it that the dispute was as a results of land dispute between two factions from Kabanye on the true owner of a parcel of land adjacent First and Last Spot along the Wa Kumasi road.

REGSEC will put together a comprehensive report on the incident after their routine visits in a bid to restore sanity into the Municipality.
