UWR: Health Way Foundation Donates Food Items to Wa School For the Deaf

A non-profit organisation in the Upper West Region, Health Way Foundation has donated food items worth thousands of Cedis to the students of Wa School for the Deaf.

The Foundation on Wednesday, 10th November had interaction with the students and donated 266 packs of cornflakes to the school to help in feeding the students.

CEO of Health Way Foundation, Madam Riyana Bin Salih, wife of the Upper West Regional Minister together with other members presented the items to the headteacher of the school Mr Sylvester Bayor.

The headteacher, Sylvester Bayor thanked the foundation for their support and called on other donors to take an interest in supporting the school.

He lamented some challenges, he said they are looking for support to repair their borehole in the school to reduce the difficulty in accessing water.

He indicated that some dormitories are not in good condition and needs to be renovated to help students stay in good condition.

Madam Reyana Bin Salih noted that their support to the school will not end with the donation and the school should expect more of such when the need arises.

She also called on other associations to come to the aid of the Wa School for Deaf.

Wa school for the deaf was established in 1969. The school is located on the outskirt of the Wa town. It is directly opposite Wa Senior High School. Wa School for the deaf serves as the only school in the Upper West Region which admits students who are hearing impaired across the length and breadth of the country.
