The Member of Parliament for North Tongu constituency, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has thanked the people of the constituency for a successful distribution of 4,000 books to the pupils.
Schools were closed down in the country due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and pupils are currently at home waiting for the government to roll out distance learning programmes for them.
The Member of Parliament saw the need to reach out to the pupils and expressed satisfaction with the work of the volunteers who helped in the distribution exercise.
“I wish to sincerely thank all volunteers in my beloved constituency who have so far helped us distribute more than 4,000 books to kids staying at home due to the nationwide closure of schools.” he said in a Facebook post.
He indicated “I owe a debt of gratitude to the publishers supporting our house-to-house free books delivery initiative.”
Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said he was delighted that all books were disinfected and that the volunteers ensured they observed social distancing protocols.
He observed that no child would be left on their own in North Tongu even as we collectively work to defeat COVID-19.
He urged the people to observe the national prayer and fasting today believing that God will deliver Ghana from this public health menace.
