The Upper West Regional Minister, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih has appealed to the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority to come to the aid of the region by rehabilitating the Wa Park.
The Minster made this known during the tour of the B.K Adama Multipurpose Youth Resource Center along side the NYA CEO to inspect progress of work at the site.
Addressing the media, the Minister extended a hand of request to the NYA CEO, Pius Enam Hadzide to rehabilitate the stands at the Wa Park to make it safe for use.
Dr Hafiz Bin Salih said the multipurpose youth resource center will complement the use of the Wa Sports Stadium to promote the development of sports in the region.
The Wa Park has been the only sports facility in the region but it is not user friendly due to lack of maintenance which has worsened the woes of the facility.
The stands at the Wa Park are nothing to write home about due to their sorry state.
The roof of the stands have been ripped off by rainstorm making it unsafe for use.
Fans who troop to the stadium to watch football are exposed to the mercy of the rain and sun thereby driving several supporters away.
