Upper West : Hon Amidu Chinnia Calls For Radical Changes To Party Leadership

Member of Parliament for Sissala East and Deputy Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources Hon Issahaku Amidu Chinnia has called on the leadership of the party to make radical changes at the regional executives levels.

This comes after some shocking but revealing results from the just ended constituency elections that saw most of the incumbent chairmen and other officials losing at an alarming rate.

With over 70 percent of the incumbent leadership dethroned in a new wind of change, pundits and experts in the political fraternity have started subjecting the old executives to scrutiny.

Joining the masses on the need to make the party attractive, Hon Issahaku Amidu Chinnia did not mince words in calling on the newly elected executives to make drastic and radical changes to the leadership of the party at the regional level.

“Let me congratulate all elected party officers in the Upper West Region. It is victory for the party and we must rally all the contestants to regroup and put the party in a position to win the 2024 elections.

I must however take this opportunity to urge all our newly elected officers to join hands to bring some radical changes in the regional leadership of the party to ensure improved performance in the 2024 general elections. Upper West NPP risk further derailing our gains in 2016 if we don’t under go some changes in the regional leadership.”, Hon Aminu Chinnia posted on his social media handles moments after the political tsunami in the region.

Virtually all eleven constituencies in the Upper West Region suffered surprise evictions of incumbent Chairmen led the return of Major in Wa West and the triumphant Osman Hamid in Wa Central.

The newly elected executives at the constituency level will then go a long way to selecting a new regional leadership of the party.

National Executive Committee will come out with the modalities and new dates for the regional showdown in the coming weeks.
