The Rotary Club of Wa has officially inducted the Vice Chancellor of Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University (DHLTU), Professor Hamidatu Dramaani, as one of its newest members.
The induction ceremony, held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Nuoyong Hotel in Wa, formed part of a two-day official visit by the District Governor, Rotarian Nana Yaa Pokua Seriboe, to the Upper West Region. Professor Dramaani was among five new members who took the Rotary oath of service and fellowship during the event.
In her address, Rotarian Nana Yaa Pokua Seriboe urged the new inductees to embody the Rotary spirit of commitment, dedication, and selfless service to humanity. She reiterated the organisation’s guiding principle of “Service Above Self,” stressing that both financial and voluntary contributions by Rotarians have continuously transformed lives, particularly among underprivileged communities within and beyond the region.
The District Governor highlighted Rotary International’s humanitarian interventions, citing the global fight against polio and several community development projects as examples of the organisation’s long-standing impact. She called on both members and non-members to actively support initiatives that empower vulnerable groups, especially women and children.
Speaking on behalf of the new members, Professor Hamidatu Dramaani expressed profound gratitude to the leadership of the Rotary Club of Wa and the District Governor for the honour bestowed upon them. She pledged her unwavering dedication and commitment to advancing the objectives of Rotary and contributing meaningfully to community development efforts championed by the organisation.
The event was attended by club members, invited guests, and regional dignitaries, marking yet another milestone in the Rotary Club of Wa’s mission to promote humanitarian service and professional fellowship.
