This venture promises to revolutionize land-related services in the region.
Geo-Map Consults brings a wealth of expertise in precise point positioning, offering a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet the unique needs of clients in the Upper West region.
Among the services to be provided are cadastral and legal surveys, drone surveys, GIS/Mapping, engineering surveys, and land management consultancy.
What sets Geo-Map Consults apart is its distinction as the first privately licensed survey firm in the Upper West region.
This status positions the firm as a crucial complement to the efforts of the Lands Commission and other related agencies, streamlining access to essential surveying services for the community.
During the inaugural ceremony held on Friday, September 22, 2023, the Chief Executive Officer of Geo-Map Consults, Surv. Prof. Prosper Basommi Laari, articulated the firm’s mission.
He stated, “In Ghana, you must be certified as a licensed surveyor, not just a surveyor, to contribute to cadastral planning. My consultancy firm will specialize in farm land surveys and engineering surveys, among other vital services. Moreover, it will facilitate public access to site plans and cadastral plans.”
Prof. Laari underscored that Geo-Map Consults is not replacing the role of the Lands Commission but rather enhancing the services available.
Prof. Laari also addressed a pressing concern in the region – land litigation. He emphasized the exorbitant costs associated with land disputes and urged all landowners to engage the services of Geo-Map Consults to preempt future legal entanglements.
Surv. Prosper Laari, an academic and the chairman of the North-East Regional Lands Commission, expressed his apprehension about unlicensed or unscrupulous surveyors infiltrating the industry.
He issued a caution to the public, advising them to exercise vigilance when seeking surveying services.
The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed professionals, including surveyors, personnel from the Lands Commission, lecturers from SDD-UBIDS, local landlords, and other prominent stakeholders.
Geo-Map Consults is strategically located in Wa, Sokpariyiri, housed within the King Kass Story Building.
As the first privately licensed survey firm in the Upper West region, it is poised to play a pivotal role in enhancing land management and surveying services, ultimately contributing to the region’s development and progress.
