Wa West : Hon Bukari Ali Renominated For DCE Position

Ghana’s President HE Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo has renominated Hon Bukari Ali for the District Chief Executive position, home radio news exclusively reports.

The NPP Upper West Regional Communication Director failed to clock the required 50 percent or more required to either get confirmed or to take the contest to second round.

The President of Ghana however unleashed his administrative powers to renominate Hon Bukari Ali as the head of the Wa West District Assembly.

He clocked 15 Yes as against 26 No to miss out on automatic confirmation for the first time.

The 41 Assembly members will have the second chance to make another choice on the DCE portfolio.

Hon Ali Bukari will need at least 29 votes to gain automatic confirmation as the government appointee for Wa West.

A team of government appointees led the upper west regional Minister and the coordinating Director will return to Wechau in the course of the week to lead the confirmation process.

Reports in Wa West suggest NPP has a healthy 10 Assembly Members plus an extra 13 appointees whiles NDC boast of an impressive 18 Assembly Members.

If Bukari Ali earns two-thirds of the 41 votes, he will be confirmed the new DCE for Wa West, replacing Hon Edward Laabir Sabo.
