The Member of Parliament for Wa West Constitiency, Hon Peter Launchene Toobu has initiated a GHS 50,000 program to empower women entrepreneurs in his constituency.
The scheme known as Tietaado is expected to support fifty (52) women in the form of loan and they are expected to pay back the loan within a year.
The Wa West lawmaker insisted the constituency is not poor pointing out that there are a lot of opportunities and if harnessed would bring prosperity.
He was optimistic the beneficiaries will be better off if they invest the loan into viable ventures.
He said a strong monitoring mechanism has been put in place to ensure the money is used judiciously to keep the scheme in existence.
On their part, the beneficiaries of the fund extolled the good work of the MP and promised to put the funds to good use.
In attendance were traditional rulers, constituency and regional executives led by the Chairman Abdul Nasir Saani.
