Wa Yaasin FC Squares Up Against Wa United FC In Upper West Regional Division II Play-Off

Wa Yaasin Football Club and Wa United FC are set to sort it for a place in the National Division One League with a winner takes all clash at the Wa Sports stadium in the regional middle league play off.

The two third tier sides zoomed their way from their respective to the epic grand finale in what promises to be a game for the football gods and are set to grace the Wa Sports stadium on Wednesday, September 29, 2021.

Described by many as the African version of Ajax Amsterdam, Wa Yaasin FC defended their brand with top class football from the group stages up until the regional middle league round robin stages.

A healthy 11 points from the group stages were enough to see Wa Yaasin FC topping their group in the first round before unleashing the beast in them at the just ended middle league.

The Dream Chasers as they are known, resurrected from the slumber to earn priceless win over Sombo Freedom Stars in the last matches of the middle league.

A last gasp winner from the Academy side pegged the game at 11 points apiece alongside Wa United FC.

With a superior cumulative goal difference over Wa United FC on same points, the Regional FA resorted to Article 7 clause 4 of the regional Leagues to order for a play-off to determine the eventual winner of the championship.

Wa United FC, under the inspiration of Suleman, Kaweel and Mabruku Costa, will have to unleash their self belief to contain the well-oiled Wa Yaasin FC side.

The winner of the regional league will join Wa Suntaa SC in the National Division One League for the 2021/22 domestic football season.
