Anthony Sumah re-elected Parliamentary Candidate for Nadowli/Kaleo

The incumbent Member of Parliament, Anthony Sumah has retained his bid to contest in the 2024 parliamentary elections in the Nadowli/Kaleo constituency of the Upper West Region.

Anthony Sumah polled 893 votes while his contender, Dr. Thadious Bayen who is a senior lecturer at the Simon Diedong Dombo University for Business and Integrated Development Studies polled 133 votes.

The votes garnered by the incumbent Member of Parliament is a vote of confidence as he won the contest with 760 votes difference.

The decision was made by 1,052 delegates from 113 polling stations in the constituency.

For the presidential primary in the Nadowli/Kaleo Constituency, Former President John Dramani Mahama received an overwhelming endorsement after polling 984 votes.

Kwabena Duffuor had 13 votes while Kojo Bonsu came last with 11 votes.

The Nadowli/Kaleo Constituency is a reserve of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the fourth republic.

Rt. Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin had represented the Nadowli/Kaleo Constituency in Parliament for six terms.

Anthony Sumah has since occupied the seat and he is hoping to be in Parliament for the second term in the 2024 elections.
