DBI: NPP Youth group accuses regional chairman of sabotaging the Regional Minister
A distinct group of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Daffiama Busia Issa Constituency in the Upper West Region has described as malicious actions against the reappointment of the former Regional Minister, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih.
Addressing the media at Issa on Tuesday 19th January, 2021, Chairman of the group, Awiliba Naafiw Bazaanye accused the Regional Chairman, S.B Kangbere of sabotaging the outgoing Regional Minister to be retained.
The group held placards which read Chairman Kangbere leave DBI in peace; Mr President, retain Dr Hafiz Bin Salih as the Regional Minister; Chairman Kangbere is the brain behind the press conference; We don’t support Isaac Kaaraba Damwaa press conference; Dr Hafiz Bin Salih supported DBI campaigns.
This was in response to earlier press conference organized at Fian by a group called the concern youth of NPP in the DBI constituency.
In the said presser, the group abhores the reappointment of Dr Hafiz Bin Salih as Upper West Regional Minister having asked by the president to act in the interim.
Awiliba Naafiw noted that the agitation by a section of the youth in DBI against the outgoing regional Minister was triggered by malice, hatred and envy.
They distanced themselves from the earlier press conference in Fian that sort to create the impression that the youth in DBI despise efforts to reinstall Dr Hafiz Bin Salih.
“We received such an incompetent press conference with an utter of dismay. We therefore, completely distance ourselves from a press conference, that is born out of hatred, ill motive and envy for the former Regional Minister.” he stated
He highlighted some of the contributions made by Dr Bin Salih in the DBI constituency.
“For is in the DBI constituency, the former Upper West Regional Minister, was instrumental and supportive to DBI NPP 2020 campaign. He supported the campaign of Hon Imoro Nadi Sanda wholeheartedly and was physically seen canvassing votes for Hon Sanda and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo. He donated party T-shirts and supported the zonal campaign teams of Daffiama, Busie and Issa with cash.”
The group further accused the regional Chairman S.B Kangbere and the Constituency organizer, Isaac Kaaraba Damwaa, as the master planners of the said press conference.
“The Regional Chairman S.B Kangbere and his loyalists in DBI, didn’t fully support the candidature of Hon Nadi Imoro Sanda. It was not surprising that we lost terribly at the Regional Chairman’s own polling stations in Owlo.” the group reiterated
According to them, Dr Bin Salih exhibited a great sense of humor, development, co-operation and hard work during his reign as Regional Minister.
They expressed their confidence in Dr Hafiz Bin Salih and therefore urged the President to reappoint the development oriented Regional Minister if he so wishes.
