Potholes on Wa-Loho road fixed

The Department of Urban Roads has filled potholes on the Wa-Loho route to improve travel along the stretch.

Known as the N12 road, the road is a national highway that begins from the Western Region to Wa and ends at Hamile on the Ghana-Burkina Faso boarder.

The bad nature of the Wa-Loho road along the N12 is a clear indication of everything that might be wrong with transportation in the Nadowli/ Kaleo district.

Movement of people, commodities, and services has been hampered and according to some motorists, the gaping potholes on the stretch continuously pose a risk to road users as there have been fatalities and severe injuries from preventable incidents.

To make it easier to travel on the road while they wait for the authorities to help, some Loho and nearby residents offered to fix the potholes two months ago.

The Urban Road department has addressed the issue after hearing their complaints on Home Radio by filling in the potholes to improve transportation and lower accident rates.

Residents along the route were grateful that the government, through the Wa Municipal assembly and urban road department for addressing a pressing issue in the area.

According to them, filling in the potholes will alleviate pressure on their economic activity.

They claimed that as a result of drivers no longer attempting to avoid potholes at the expense of pedestrians and other road users, accidents and traffic jams would be decreased.

The locals requested the government to expand the road reconstruction project to other areas of the region to increase the socioeconomic activities of the populace.
