Wa Central MP Hon Dr Hassan Rashid Pelpuo Joins Global Leaders In Climate Restoration Conference

Member of Parliament for Wa Central Constituency Hon. Dr. Hassan Rashid Pelpuo has joined global stakeholders in the historic climatic restoration conference in the United Kingdom as part of pragmatic plans to curb the rising depletion of the climate and it’s resources.

The historic conference, hosted in Glasgow, saw global stakeholders including presidents of countries and specialists in weather and climate related issues assembled under one roof in search of answers to the fast depleting environment.

Hon Dr Hassan Rashid Pelpuo, one of few delegates from Ghana and Africa at large, teamed up with his colleagues to draft short and long term solutions led by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate (UNFCCC) with support from other countries.

The main objective of the conference was to identify ways of stabilizing the atmospheric layers and the resulting green house effects on human life.

Taking to his ever interactive social media handles, Dr Hassan Rashid Pelpuo updated his followers on happenings in Scotland and the immediate plans put in place to curb the global phenomenon.

“At the Climate Conference ground.
We are at the negotiation stage.

Decisions taken here require input of financing various steps to be taken to fully address the challenges of climate change.

We are negotiating on Finance: trying to get nations committed to the funding of the cost of repair of the environment.

This comes through the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and its related areas of agreements.

This is the primary forum for international cooperation on stabilizing atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations at a level that would prevent a devastating destruction of our planet cover.

The difference between developing countries and developed countries is showing in the negotiation process”, Dr. Hassan Rashid Pelpuo posted on his social media handles.

The historic conference saw Ghana’s President, HE Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo joining his colleague president at the ceremony.

Dr Hassan Rashid Pelpuo was delegated by Parliament to attend similar global seminars and conference in the last few months.
