Rt Hon Speaker Alban Bagbin to restock the Nadowli-Kaleo District Hospital

The speaker of Ghana’s Parliament and former member of Parliament for Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency Rt. Hon Speaker A.S.K Bagbin is set to restock the Nadowli-Kaleo District Hospital with medical equipment and medicine to backup the healthcare delivery sector.

Rt. Hon Speaker made this known during a Leadership Seminar at McCoy College of Education Conference Hall with the THEME “Grooming the Youth For Leadership And Service Speaker Bagbin as a Case Study”, which was organized in kind courtesy of The Umbrella Family of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Friday 22 September, 2023 for students leaders of Basic and Senior High Schools across the Constituency in Nadowli-Kaleo district of the Upper region in honours of the 66th Birthday Celebration of the Speaker Bagbin, which come off on Sunday 24 September,2023.

The longest serving lawmaker was answering a question posed by a participant at the seminar about the challenges he encountered in Parliament since the assumption of the Speaker position.

In answering the question, the indicated that “challenges, I have seen opportunities. When I initially started to be a challenge was my sickness, that is all. But as for the house, my colleagues MPs they work in the house, the nature of politics in Ghana that would be a challenge to me who has been in Parliament for 28 years and occupied all those positions till I became a speaker”.

“The sickness trying to be a challenge but I used it as an opportunity, and there are a lot of things I have done by going for treatment to benefit this region which we are not talking about”, the speaker added.
He said, when he recently heard about the demonstration of the Nadowli-Kaleo concern Youth Demonstrators against the management about the state of the District Hospital.

He mentioned that, he and the MP had a discussion already about the hospital and he has written to release funds to restock the Nadowli-Kaleo District Hospital and the money is ready for the restocking.
The speaker also lamented about the poor management and he is in support of people that have better managerial and leadership skills to manage the Hospital to prevent the repeat restocking.

Hon.Bagbin also noted that, the state of the Road from Wa through Bole Bomboi to Techiman highway needs reconstruction, and he has written to the road Minister to also release funds for the rehabilitation even before the recent broken down of the Sawla -Bole bridge.

The Guest Speakers include, the speaker himself Rt. Hon. A.S.K Bagbin as Guest of Honour, the member of Parliament for Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency Hon Anthony Sumah, Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu MP for Wa West Constituency as the resource person, and Dr. Eunice Yogri, the Chairperson for the program.
