UWR Hospital: Overall Award winner expressed gratitude to Management
The Overall Award winner for the upper west regional hospital 2023 staff awards Mr. Reagan Agyekum has expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to the management and fellow colleagues workers of the Hospital for the recognition and the kind gesture as the overall winner.
In an exclusive interview with Home Radio network on Tuesday 16 January, 2024, the 33 year old nurse who previously worked in Kundugu before he was reposted to the Regional health facility is n 2019 thanked all stakeholders in the medical center.
Expressing his appreciation, Mr. Reagan Agyekum stated that ” I least expected this thing anyway little did I know my efforts were seen by many, and then I couldn’t have imagined a crowd like that cheering me up and so, I was so impressed and I can say since then I have been receiving calls and all that from other regions congratulating me. I think it has really enlightened me and I want to say on record that going forward I will put up my best to put on smiles on the faces of patients and their relatives”.
He added by saying that, aside his qualifications and jobs description other way to do at work side was to create jokes and rapports among patients and relatives including colleagues workers at work places just to be freely with everyone making them feel happy particularly patients and relatives.
Mr. Reagan also expressed worry over patients relatives coming to visit their patients at all times particularly odd hours which sometimes gives confrontations between workers and visitors in the hospital.
The Overall Award winner then used this opportunity to plead with the hospital Authorities for strict enforcement of the visiting hours to reduce the situation for cordially relationship among people in the region and the workers at the hospital.
On the other attitudinal behavior by some nurses towards patients and relatives, Mr. Agyekum advised his colleagues workers to be mindful and humble towards clients despite the challenges and team together and work collectively for achieving the goal of the Upper West Regional Hospital.
The hospital management on Saturday 13 January, 2024 awarded him as the overall winner for upper West Regional Hospital 2023 staff awards and he took home Asonic Aloba motor bike and a Certificate including a special package of Ghc2,000 from the Upper regional Minister.
The Second Runner-up position Mad. Dumah Judith (Midwife) and the third Runner-up position Mad. Zeinab Salih (nurse) respectively, also expressed their delightfulness for the awards.
Both have used the opportunity to call on the Upper West Regional health Director for more staff particularly Midwives and nurses at the hospital for better and quality health care delivery.
