Upper West: Border Camp, MTN , Generate 74 Pints Of Blood Massive Blood Donation Exercise In Wa
Ghana’s largest telecommunications network, MTN Ghana, has collaborated with Border Camp to undertake their annual blood donation exercise in town.
The yearly event, which has since provided appreciable blood to the Municipal and Regional Blood banks, was patronized by people of different walks of life.
Border Camp, a Sokpayiri based camp around the Wa Market in the Upper West Region, has been undertaking this annual blood donation exercise for a quite while.
Camp leader, Chicago Best DJ, confirmed why they engaged in the annual exercise.
According to him , “it is an annual event we have been organizing in collaboration with MTN Ghana to safe out brothers and sisters at the various hospitals. We do it as part of our responsibilities as stakeholders in the society. Today we might not need blood but be looking for others to help us. So this exercise is to ensure that the blood blanks have enough to assist our people. We do it with support from MTN Ghana in the upper west region”.
With scores of donors queueing up to make donation, the exercise produced 74 pints of blood at the end of the day.
The annual donation exercise has been described as one of the most flagship programmes in the Upper West Region.
