The Member of Parliament claims that the UNFPA and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will take the Wa Central Constituency into account when making plans for the upcoming year.

In order to address his constituents in his new capacity as the President of the African Parliamentarians Forum on Population and Development, he announced this on Home Radio’s Sunrise Upper West.

Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, who also serves as the Wa Central Member of Parliament, claimed that his election to the new position will be to the people’s advantage, citing the action taken to bring the two agencies to the constituency as the beginning.

He claimed that the role he currently has will allow him to network with a variety of international development partners and provide him the chance to represent the constituency.

The Wa Central lawmaker stated that he has received several congratulations from his fellow lawmakers and that a speech regarding his new position will be made on the floor of parliament to express gratitude.

In order to officially inform President Akufo Addo and former President John Mahama of his new position, he made a suggestion that he would pay them a courtesy call.

Dr. Rashid Pelpuo disclosed that he will subsequently visit the remainder of the constituency to introduce himself and to let them know that, because of the additional responsibilities, he might not be visiting often.

He gave the gathering of people who greeted him with a boisterous welcome at the Wa Airport his sincere gratitude.
