The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Daffiama Bussie Issah District, Hon. James Wor, has cautioned workers in all institutions within the district against absenteeism, lateness, and general apathy toward work, describing such attitudes as detrimental to productivity and development.
Hon. Wor issued the warning on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, during the second ordinary meeting of the District Assembly, which brought together assembly members and departmental heads.
Expressing concern over the conduct of some public sector employees, the DCE noted that many prioritize personal activities over their official responsibilities. He stressed that public servants must justify the salaries and benefits they receive by demonstrating discipline, commitment, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Hon. Wor further urged all workers in the district to foster unity and cooperation while working diligently to improve the living standards of residents.

He warned that any worker found guilty of absenteeism or lateness without a justifiable reason would face disciplinary action, emphasizing that such lackadaisical behavior would not be tolerated under his leadership. “The civil service regulations do not condone absenteeism or lateness to work without valid reasons,” he stated firmly.
The DCE concluded by calling on all staff across the various institutions to exhibit dedication and efficiency, underscoring that the district’s progress hinges on a hardworking and committed workforce.
