Honourable Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw, Member of Parliament for Wa East Constituency and Chairman of the Agric and Cocoa Affairs Committee of Parliament, is currently attending the CGIAR Science Week in Nairobi, Kenya. This premier event brings together global experts, researchers, and policymakers to discuss and shape the future of agricultural research and policy.
Dr. Jasaw was invited to provide valuable insights into CGIAR’s new Policy Champions Network, aimed at strengthening the link between research and policy in agriculture and food systems. He will engage with fellow policy practitioners from over 26 countries to identify national policy research needs, advocate for evidence-based decision-making, and foster collaboration between science and policy.
As a renowned expert in sustainable food systems, Dr. Jasaw’s participation is an opportunity for him to share Ghana’s experiences and best practices in agricultural development. His attendance at the event will equip him with new knowledge and insights to share with Ghanaian stakeholders upon his return.
The CGIAR Science Week, running from April 7 to 12, 2025, features a range of activities, including keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive sessions with leading experts in agriculture, climate science, and food security. The event aims to inspire global collaboration and innovation, essential for reimagining a sustainable and healthy future for people and the planet.
