He has distinguished himself beyond satisfaction; Nadowli/Kaleo NDC eulogizes Speaker of parliament
Rt Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has distinguished himself beyond satisfaction to the admiration of the world.
These were the words of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Nadowli/Kaleo constituency after the former legislator was crowned the Speaker of parliament of the 8th Parliament of the fourth Republic.
In a press conference held at Sombo, the home town of the newly elected speaker of parliament, the constituency Communication Officer, Biekpe Sylvester said the feat chalked by ASK Bagbin is as a result of the contributions and sacrifices he provided to building parliament and institutions and therefore touts his elevation as a divine favor.
He hailed Rt Hon Alban Bagbin for transforming the Nadowli/Kaleo constituency into a vastly developed area thereby describing the 28 years of the former MP as a blessing.
“From a constituency that lacked virtually every basic developmental infrastructure prior to his entry to parliament to a constituency that can now boast of countless developmental infrastructure, one can only pat Hon Bagbin in the back for his visionary leadership.” the communication officer said
According to him, the Rt Hon ASK Bagbin has brought drastic development to the constituency in the area of education, health, water and roads.
He stressed that “About 99% of the constituents now have access to good drinking water due to the many boreholes and small town water systems provided taking the coverage to about 89%, higher than the 77% Sustainable Development Goal’ s target. He worked tirelessly to build many basic infrastructure in several communities and added five second cycle institutions and actuary institution.”
In the area of health, he noted that “the constituency now has a well equipped functional district hospital through his efforts on building quality health systems. The construction of many CHPs, to the provision of medical tools, and supply of essential drugs to health facilities.”
“The constituency also boast of good motorable access roads, many of them were non existing before he became MP. Electricity coverage is about 89% coverage and telecommunication network has improved tremendously in the constituency.” he indicated
With the enormous contribution of Hon Bagbin to the developmental agenda of the area, Biekpe Sylvester said a comprehensive plan will be unveiled to celebrate him while pointing out that they will work hard to protect, preserve and immortalize his good name.
The communication officer further thanked the NDC, John Dramani Mahama and the leadership of the NDC caucus in parliament for the overwhelming endorsement of their former law maker which strengthened the tenants and principles of democracy.
Touching on the election of Anthony Mwinkaara Sumah as the next MP for the Nadowli/Kaleo constituency, Mr Sylvester was appreciative to the electorates and the constituency executives for the resounding victory while expressing confidence in the legislator to address the remaining challenges confronting the people.
