150,000 tress to be planted in UW- Green Northern Ghana group

Green Northern Ghana group to plant 150,000 trees as part of the green Ghana project spearheaded by the Ministery of Lands and Natural Resources.

This was revealed on Wednesday 9th June, 2021 when the Green Northern Ghana Group paid a courtesy call on the Upper West Regional Minister, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih.

The visit was meant to brief the Minister on the activities set aside to mark the day.

“On Wednesday, 9th June 2021, some members of Green Northern Ghana group visited me in my office. The group associates with the Green Ghana project initiated by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.” The Minister stated on Facebook

“On Friday 11th June 2021, it is anticipated that 5 million trees will be planted across the country to mark the Green Ghana Day. For the Upper West Region, it is expected that 150,000 trees will be planted.”

Dr Hafiz Bin Salih therefore described the visit of the Green Northern Ghana group as timely and appropriate.
