The elders of Dondoli have announced a comprehensive ban on all marriage-related celebration activities within the community and its surrounding areas.
The directive, which took effect today, Friday, 5th December 2025, prohibits events such as dance programs, stereo celebrations, and Gumbe performances.
According to the elders, the decision was taken to restore order, enhance discipline, and maintain harmony within the community.
While the ban restricts most forms of celebratory gatherings associated with marriage ceremonies, Da’awa events remain exempt from the restrictions.
In a statement issued to the public, the elders outlined strict penalties for those who fail to comply with the ban. These sanctions include the confiscation and destruction of sound equipment, exclusion of event organizers from community activities, and withdrawal of cooperation from both community members and traditional authorities.
The community leaders urged residents to respect the directive and advised individuals planning marriage ceremonies to avoid organizing any banned activities.
They emphasized that the notice serves as a formal warning and that any acts of defiance will be met with decisive action.
The Dondoli elders reiterated their commitment to safeguarding the community’s values and maintaining social order.
