UWR: Minister tours some BECE centers

The Upper West Regional Minister, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih has paid a working visit to some examination centers in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region. The visit is to observe the ongoing Basic Education Examination (BECE).

According to him, the visit was meant to offer his support to the pupils and to wish them well in the exams.

The Minister admonished the pupils to avoid exam malpractices and encouraged them to put in their best to stand the chance of enjoying the free SHS policy.

Mr Dongyeru Godfrey, the Upper West Regional Director of Education urged the supervisors to do their work diligently and avoid harassing the students throughout the period of the exams.

According to him, thirteen thousand students are partaking in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) across the Upper West Region.

Out of the 13,929 candidates who begins the examination in the region, 7,021 are males, while 6,908 are females.

Mr Godfrey added that the exams is going on in fifty four centers across the region with Wa Municipal recording eleven centers, the highest number of centers with 3,236 candidates.
