Dr Bawumia donates 500 bags of cement to Yeri Naa

Vice President and running mate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamud Bawumia has supported the construction of a fencing wall at the Wa Yeri Naa’s cemetery with five hundred bags of cement.

The donation was made on behalf of the Vice President by the Upper West Regional Minister, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih on Tuesday in the company of Wa Central NPP Constituency Chairman, Mr Ali Karim Kamara, NASARA Coordinator, Alhaj Osman Mahmoud and Wa MCE, Hon Issahaku Tahiru Moomin.

Speaking after the donation, the Regional Minister said the donation was in fulfillment of a promise made by Dr Mahamud Bawumia when he paid a courtesy visit on the Yeri Naa in Wa as part of his campaign tour of the Upper West Region.

Alhaji Sualihu Mumuni Sungumo, Chief of the Muslim community in Wa requested for support from Dr Mahamud Bawumia to construct a new palace starting with a fencing wall.

Dr Bin Salih promised to pay the cost of transporting the cement from the retail shop and therefore said the Vice President is happy to be part of the construction of the Wa Yeri Naa’s palace.

A member of the council of elders at the Yeri Naa’s palace, Alhaji Seidu Jamatutu who spoke on behalf of the Chief of the Muslim community in Wa, Yeri Naa Alhaji Sualihu Mumuni Sungumo, thanked the Vice President for the kind gesture and assured that the cement will be used for the purpose for which it was requested for.

According to him, it will only be good to pray for the success of one who will share with his people, adding that the cement will play key role in their quest to build a befitting palace for the Yeri Naa.

The new palace of the Yeri Naa will be constructed on their land previously used as cemetery at Dondoli in Wa.
