UWR: Wa West MP outdoors mini-Ghana project to speed up constituency development.

The Member of Parliament for Wa West Constituency, Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu has outdoored a leadership capacity-building platform dubbed ” Mini-Ghana” to lead the development advocacy of the Wa West District.

The “Mini-Ghana” is a leadership capacity-building platform modeled from Ghana’s governance structure and is aimed to model innovational leaders for the development of the Wa West District.

The platform has 15 leadership portfolios named ministries, with 58 members tasked with developmental roles.

Speaking at the launch of the program on Saturday, 20th February, 2021 at Blue Hills Hotel in Wa, Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu indicated that the platform was created to analyze the developmental needs of the Wa West constituency for redress.

According to him, the project was part of his commitment to developing the human resource capacity of the Wa West Constituency.

He believed the platform would be able to produce innovative leaders to offer solutions to the acute challenges confronting the Wa West Constituency.

He tasked all participants to be extraordinary in what they do saying “we must be able to do something extraordinary to attract development to Wa West.”

A member, Alhassan Salman who acts as the Chief of Staff under the module encouraged members to work in the interest of the constituents while describing the job as service to the community.

Key speakers at the program, were the MP, for Wa East Constituency Hon. Dr. Seidu Jasaw, MP for Wa Central Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, Dr. Damasus Tuorosung, a senior lecturer at the Wa Simon Diedong Dombo University for Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS).
