Naa Prof Edmund Delle donates to Muslim communities

Fasting is an expression of solidarity with the poor and It is manifested through the concept of charity, neighbourhood and hospitality.

Apart from helping to purify the body and soul through the process of self-purification, addressing these areas of social significance are bound to help people to shed all those things, which are not socially desirable.

It is on this back drop that the Newly enskined Paramount Chief of Nandom, Naa Professor Edmund Delle donated 20 bags of rice to Muslim communities in Nandom ahead of Eid ul Fitr celebration.

The gesture by the new paramount Chief is part of his annual assistance given to Muslims during the period of Ramadan.

Naa Professor Delle earlier donated bags of sugar to the people to mark the beginning of the holy month.

The rice was handed over to the people by a delegation from the Chief Palace and according to them, the donation was meant to cushion the needy in the paramountcy.

“Prof has been assisting the Muslims in Nandom with food items during Ramadan. The essence of the donation is to help the needy to also have something to eat on the day of the celebration of the Eid.” they reiterated.

There was a symbolic donation at the Chief place and Leaders of the various Muslim communities in Nandom will receive the donation and they are expected to share with members who are deprived.

Ramadan is the month of blessing for Muslims all over the world. Muslims fast and pray for forgiveness and blessings from Allah.

The Eid ul Fitr celebration is slated to be observed on Tuesday, 3rd May, 2022 across the country.

Naa Prof Edmund Delle succeeded the late Naa Dr Puoure Puobe Chiir VII who died in August 2018 at the age of 73 after he was enskinned Chief of Nandom on May 2, 1985.
