Nadowli-Kaleo: Dr. Thadious pledges to fix Korenyiri’s broken bridge

Dr. Thadious Banyen, a senior lecturer at the S.D Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies, has promised to build a damaged bridge between Korenyiri and Naro.

The lecturer, who had traveled the road to monitor his students as they completed their field practical program at Korenyiri, stated his desire to build the bridge.

He claimed to have noticed that the dilapidated nature of the road had an impact on the residents’ socioeconomic activity.

Residents struggle to get farm products to Naro and other market centers because the road connecting Korenyiri and Naro is unmotorable especially during the rainy season.

With a population of over 700, Korenyiri is primarily a farming community in the Nadowli-Kaleo District of the Upper West Region.

Since there is no junior high school in the area and pupils must drive many miles to Naro for school, children in the area struggle to have access to education.

The assembly has reportedly been informed of the poor condition of the road, but little has been done to improve it, according to the locals.

They expressed their gratitude to Dr. Thadious for his support and urged the government, through the Nadowli-Kaleo District Chief Executive, Hon. Katherine T. Lankono, Member of Parliament, Hon. Anthony M. Sumah, and former Member of Parliament, now Speaker of the House, Alban Bagbin, to follow in Dr. Thadious’ footsteps and repair the road.
