UWR: Achimota School Authorities are Mentally slaved – Ras Bob Pelpuo

Member of the Rastafarian Council of Ghana, and Manager of Wa-based Radio Station W 93.5 FM, Ras Bob Pelpuo has described authorities of Achimota Senior High School as mentally slaves.

He made the comments on Home Radio, Sunrise Upper West morning show when he criticized on the decision of the Achimota school for rejecting some students wearing dreadlocks.

According to Ras Bob, he can not understand why the school had previously given admission to foreign students who wore their natural long hair and can not do the same for black students.

” The school is mentally in slavery because they chose to accept the foreign culture of natural hair by admitting foreign students without them reducing their hair, but are asking black students to reduce their hair before being accepted,” he said.

He, however, noted he is not surprised at what is happening at Achimota School, revealing the Rastafarian council has had issues with some schools before they allowed Rastafarian students in their school.

Ras Bob Pelpuo added that it is disappointing for people to treat others based on their appearance with dreadlocks.

He said ” it is not all dreadlock wearers that are Rastafarians, and we must start to judge Rastafarians based on how what they conduct themselves because Rastafarians are the most peace-loving and care for societal development”

Ras Bob Pelpuo further called on society to accept Rastafarians base on what they accomplish and not how they appear.

Ras Bob, who is also an expert in tourism management revealed he has lost out on several jobs because of his Rastafarian culture.
