DKT Train Stops In Upper West Region, Trains Pharmacists On Modern Contraceptives

Pharmacists and drug store operators in the upper west region have been schooled on the side effects of contraceptives in a one day seminar staged at the Delagio Hotel in Wa.

The regional program pooled participants across all eleven districts under the stewardship of DKT, a social marketing platform on drugs and their side effects.

A total of over 200 participants, ranging from nurses, midwifes, pharmacists and drug store operators, were updated on modern contraceptives, uses and their side effects.

Lead trainer, Mr. Abdulai Adamu, led the training session that exposed participants to modern day contraceptives and how to enhance their safety in a fast emerging competitive world.

The training session used social enterprising model to better the lives of the citizenry in a world class training module.

Speaking on the training session, Mr Abdulai Adamu, explained the concept of pharmacovigilance as a new concept introduced by the medical experts to track drugs and their side effects, adverse effects of drugs and health free system compliance mode.

Mr. Abdulai Adamu took the platform to hint at an even extended version of the training at the community levels as they seek to bridge the gap between the consumer and the producers of drugs and other contraceptives.

The DKT conglomerate took turn to explain their new products and benefits one stand to get should one join their firm as a pharmacists or retailer.

The upper west regional medical heads took turns to address the participants on the impact of pharmocovigilance and the adverse side effects of drugs.
