UWRFA D2L: Wa Yaasin Jnrs Crowned Champions

Weeks on weeks and months on months, friendship became second to the colour of the shirts on the pitch of play.

The Upper West Regional Division Two League 2020-2021 season crowned Wa Yaasin Juniors Football Club champions.

The dream chasers had a tough journey after amassing same points with Wa United in the middle league and a play-off was what settled the score.

The parked crowd, teaming voices, flair, telepathy, emotions, tactically and technically display at Wa Malik Jabir Park on Wednesday 29th September, both teams took to the pitch of play.

Wa Yaasin Juniors FC earned a penalty in the early part of the first department of the game.

The spot kick was converted by their skipper, Banye Theophilus. Wa United came pressing with some goal scoring opportunities but couldn’t find the back of the net.

The second department took a different approach which both teams have numerous chances but yet again failed to score.

It ended 1-0 in favour of Wa Yaasin Juniors FC. The academy boys will play in the 2021-2022 National Division One League set to commence on 11th November 2021.

The Upper West Region now have two representatives, previously Wa Suntaa Sporting Club was solely present.
