The Ghana Police Service has deployed over 300 Police personnel to Wa, the Upper West Regional Capital to assist investigations to unravel the mystery behind the killings and abduction of residents.
The region has been beefed up with special purpose investigation and intelligence teams as well as additional police visibility and crime combat teams under the leadership of the Director -General of operations.
The situation is at alarming levels as residents besieged the Wa Naa Palace on Friday to register their displeasure over the incessant killings and disappearance of residents without any arrest.
The irate youth is demanding stakeholders and the security forces to step up efforts to solve the matter by bringing the perpetrators to book.
The special police team has arrived in Wa ahead of the visit of the Inspector General of Police to the region on Monday, September 19, 2022.
The Upper West Regional Capital has been plagued with series of murders and adductions over the past four months involving seven security guards.
